weekend and tooth pain

The weekend was great! It was nice and relaxing and I got to spend it with someone who makes me smile :) We had a little excitement but nothing too extreme.

Friday night R didn't get home until 11 so that was a boring night. Saturday we got up and went to lunch. We went and got J for a bit and watered the cows and picked some pecans and just had a nice time. Sat night we had some mexican food and then came home and chilled.

Sunday we did absolutely NOTHING and it was fabulous. We did have some breakfast and a nap and then I started feeling crappy later on. I went home about 830 or so and by the time I got home I was coughing and had a sore throat and just felt awful. I hardly slept at all Sunday night and I woke up Monday morning feeling TERRIBLE!!!!

I called into work I felt so bad and I never do that for me. I save my time for Kendall. It was BAD. Well, I found out that she was sick too so I had the ex bring her over. There was no sense in him staying home when I was already home. Well, the girl was not that sick and she talked the WHOLE day and all I wanted to do was sleep. I know I slept a lot so I think she spent a lot of time talking to herself. I did help her build a fort. I had to cancel girl scouts because I felt so bad but Lisa stepped up and took over. Only 5 out of 9 girls showed up so I was kind of upset but whatever. My brother is in from Montana and KJ reallllyyy wanted to see him and her cousin so I drug myself off the couch, had a shower and met the family for dinner.

KJ and my sweet nephew Tyler

Tuesday was a softball game and dinner with the family again.

Wednesday was DRAMA!!!!!! On Monday night after dinner we stopped to get gas and KJ had been chewing gum. She hadn't had it for very long and she didn't want it any more because she said her tooth was hurting. We got home and did our bedtime stuff and then she went to bed. She was in tears and couldn't sleep because it hurt. I gave her some Tylenol and she seemed better. Tuesday morning she didn't mention anything to me and then Tuesday night she said it had only hurt a few times during the day. WELL, over night from Tuesday to Wednesday, she cried in her sleep, tossed and turned and complained about tooth pain. Wednesday morning she was in tears. BIG BIG TEARS. She was saying it hurt sooooo bad. I gave her more Tylenol and told her I would make her a dentist appointment as soon as they opened at 830. I called the dentist and they could see her at 930. I went and got her and we went to the dentist. At this point she said it had not hurt so far today.

The dentist wanted to take an xray and KJ would just not cooperate. The little camera was too big and her tooth was starting to hurt. So the dentist looked at it and she said that she thought there was an infection but without an xray she couldn't confirm and referred us to a pediatric dentist. The one she referred us to was not in our network so I called the insurance and they gave me another name. I had our dentist call them to see if they could squeeze us in and they did! We got there and they were able to get an xray. She said the nerve was aggravated from the cavity that was filled by the other dentist back in the summer. The cavity was honestly too big to have been filled and the pedi dentist said she would not have taken the chance because now we are ending up with this nerve drama.

She gave us two choices. She could do a nerve treatment and put a silver cap on it or she could pull it and put a spacer in it. I was SO STRESSED and at a loss of what to do. I called KJ's dad and he said to compare the prices and to see if they did the cap would the pain come back. They told me that they could not guarantee the pain wouldn't come back so I was opting to have it pulled then they told me that since this was such a rush, they couldn't confirm the price but thought it would be around $353 for the extraction and about $225 for the crown. This did NOT make sense, but they said to think about it and come back at 1. I called my mom and R and asked their opinion. They both said pull it but I was SO confused due to this cost thing. I decided to call the insurance myself. THANK GOODNESS I did! They advised that the extraction was covered at 100% and so was the space modifier plus she had met her deductible for the year so all we would have to pay for was the nitrous. That was $100. I waited until she went to the back and then I went back to work. She called me when she was done and told me she was scared but Lulu had been with her and kept her safe. I was so sad for my baby for all this pain she had to go through but SO PROUD how big she was and handled it all so well. I was one sad momma yesterday. The day just sucked all around. I went to dinner with my family last night (sister, BIL, mom, dad, brother and nephew) and we laughed and laughed and it took my mind off everything and helped me get into a better mood. I went to see KJ and the tooth after and she was in a great mood now that all that mean pain was gone. We snuggled for about 20 minutes and then I went home.
waiting on the pedi dentist - in a LOT of pain

the spacer - it is a ring around the back tooth with a bar in the space of the missing one

clearly she feels better - acting like a zombie

I am so proud to be that girl's mom! She is amazing and I grow more proud of her every day!

tonight is another game and tomorrow R and J come into town and we get to have some fun times over the weekend! Can't wait!!!! And next week is HALLOWEEN and a parent teacher conference so look for updates on those!!!!

Catch up!!

Nothing exciting has happened since I last posted....I am in a much better mood than I was the last time I posted! I got some much needed time with my baby and some friends!

Two Friday's ago I went shopping for a new bed! YAY! I got a queen and I am beyond excited to get rid of that twin I have been sleeping in for almost a year and a half!!!! It was delivered this week and I love it!

KJ had two games on 10/06 and I missed some other stuff because of them, but I wouldn't have missed those for the world. They lost both games but they played hard!!! It was a long hot day and I was ready to go home and sleep, but my friends convinced me to go out with them. We went to midtown and had......an adventure...yeah, we will go with that. We went to see extreme midget wrestling....it was...special. One of the midgets liked me ant it was just all around weird.

Sunday I went to church and then got my stuff for Brownie bridging for Monday. It was a lazy day and I felt like crap all day. I could hardly stay awake and just felt icky. Monday I still felt bad but went to work. I left early, but didn't get to rest for long as we had Brownie Bridging that night. I think it went well. Sadly I don't have any pics of it as I was doing the ceremony, but I did get a pic of this cute brownie cupcake that my friend Teresa made...she is THE BOMB!

Tuesday was a game, Wednesday KJ was at her dad's and Thursday was a game.

Friday was PINK OUT day at her school. They were honoring breast cancer for awareness month in October and boy did my girl go ALL OUT! She was so proud to be supporting her Granny and her cousin! There was also a movie night at our apartments Friday night! We watched Hunted Mansion and it was fun. I had 2 other girls in my space along with my own. It was fun!

Saturday we got up and went to the local stadium for a marching contest. I was in band in high school and I thought KJ would like to go see some bands. It was fun but hot and I got a sunburn...in OCTOBER....UGH! After that we went to see some friends that were scrapbooking. It was nice to see them because I had not seen them in a while! Sat night we got ready for Curtis and Kristin's Halloween Party. It was fun and we got to see my littlest nephews <3 p="p">
Atascocita High School

The cutest pirate EVER!

Sunday we took our annual trip to the zoo with the Jensen girls! This was our 4th year in a row to go with them, but I believe it is mine and KJ's 5th time. They love it and it is so fun! It was warm and humid and rainy.....blech! But, we had a BLAST!!!!!

Positivity fades

This has been a rough week for me all around...I am normally a very upbeat and positive person. I try to always have a smile on my face and see the good in everything, but this week, I have really failed at that!

Monday my mom had an appt. at her cancer dr. that I went to with her. We had a scare and we are still pending some results that we will get Monday, but so far the dr. thinks it was a false scare and she is in the clear and just has a little bone thinning. I ended up working late and then had to run a billion errands...I got home and had to run. I needed to get the negativity of the day out of my system.

Tuesday night we had practice for KJ and I collected the candy $$ from all the parents but one. This person decided that even though I told her I was collecting Tuesday and had to turn in to the board Thursday that she would go ahead and give it to me Thursday since she was on the board and would be there anyway....sure people, disregard everything I ask and do what you want. This is also the ONLY parent that had a conflict with the snack/scorekeeper/dugout schedule....UGH!!! I got home and realized that I was having a lot of discomfort in the right side of my face. It was feeling a tad like Bells Palsy (I only know this because I have had it before). BUT, there was some pain this time which I didn't have before...I was worried but went to bed anyway.

Well, I slept like CRAP! I had so much ear pain and jaw pain all night long. I almost did not make it to work on Wednesday, but I figured I could sit at my desk in pain or lay in bed in pain. I went to work, but it kept getting worse. I had roving pain, numbness, tingling, itchiness and sensitivity all over the right side of my face. Someone mentioned shingles so that freaked me out. I went to the urgent care clinic and the dr. said it was probably TMJ causing Bells Palsy but he hoped we had caught it early...He gave me an antibiotic, a huge pack of steroids and some pain meds. I did not really feel better all day. I went back to work that afternoon. I had KJ that night and we went to eat with my parents. It was a nice time I just felt like poop. We came home, did homework, and went to bed. I started hurting and then had a rough night sleeping from pain and it was HOT. I went and turned the air down and realized Thursday morning that the house had not gotten any cooler. I turned it up hoping it was just a fluke and went to work determined it would work last night when I got home.

Thursday was a better day pain wise. We had practice last night again and I had to get jerseys and turn in candy $$ and get the stuff back to practice for parents so we could be ready for our 2 Saturday games. I left on time and got to KJ just fine. We had to run home really fast because I had forgotten her softball clothes even though I had set them out with all her stuff...my mind just hasn't been right. We got to practice and I dropped her and left. The fundraiser she had done a few weeks back had come in so luckily her dad was able to get that for me. I ran to the fields to turn in the $$ and meet the mom that had the last of the $$ that she needed to turn into me. On the way there, she emailed me and said the dad was going to bring it to the park with the daughter at practice....the park I had JUST LEFT!!!! I was FURIOUS! I emailed her back and told her I had already left and was on my way to her. She had him bring the $$ to her but in return, the kid never went to practice....UGH PEOPLE!

So, I am there early and I turn in my $$ and guess what! There are NO Jerseys or spirit shirts. They are on their way so I wait. I get the pants, socks, and visors, but I waited for the rest. When they got there, the printing company had only gotten through #8 on each team.....FABULOUS! We have 10 girls....oh well, I took what they had and I will get the other 2 Sat morning before our games. It is only 2. I run back to practice and pass everything out. Done. Success. At the end of practice I found out that KJ got SMACKED by the ball on her wrist and there was still a HUGE red welp on her wrist. UGH! My poor baby. Plus she is not doing great at hitting so we are going to try and let her wear her glasses and see if that helps....if so, I am going to have to get her some she can wear on the field so she doesn't break her good ones.

I finally got home around 8. I walked the dog and needed to get out so I went for a run. It was so nice and peaceful. I had turned the air down before I left for my run and checked it when I got back and nothing. SO, I mark the inside temp with a pencil. I turned it up and then off and waited for the compressor to turn off. I turned it back on and then let it run for a bit....NOTHING! NOT COOLING. I turned it way up and opened the windows...luckily it is October and a little cooler than it would be if it was August...

Today has been and OK day so far. I am in a lot of pain again and noticing a little paralysis in my lip and eye, but not too bad. I am meeting my parents after work for dinner so that is good :) We have 2 games tomorrow so I hope my baby does good and the team wins!

I am feeling like I just want to crawl in bed and sleep all weekend. I am down and out. I dont' feel good and I don't have KJ and I don't get to see my handsome this weekend because I am not about to miss my baby's games!!! We can't meet in the middle because we are both broke so it will be a MONTH between seeing him...blech....good thing we talk daily :) I promised my friend I would go out with her tomorrow night....she wants to go see Extreme Midget Wrestling....I'm game if I feel better! Always an adventure with that girl!

Hope you all have a great weekend and I promise I will turn it around next week!!! No more wallowing for me! When my face feels better and the pain is gone I will try and smile again.... until then,I will try my best.

Crazy crazy days!!

I lead a very chaotic life. It doesn't seem so to many people from the outside. I **seem** to have it all together but...HAHAHAH...that is hilarious! I am a MESS...my house is a wreck and I feel I am doing everything LAST MINUTE! I hate that feeling, but I just can't change....I WANT to...but alas, I don't think it will happen....

Last Monday we had a Daisy meeting. Our LAST daisy meeting...this Monday coming up our girls will be bridging to Brownies! It is a big deal and I have been planning a big ceremony. The girls (at least mine) seem excited. Here is a pic of my girl on her last day of being a Daisy...

On Tuesday and Thursday we had softball practice. KJ is getting better each time. She isn't GREAT, but she has fun and that is all that matters!!! The scary thing this year is that they only get 5 pitches from the coach and if they don't hit it, they are out. That is the joy of 8u....I am a little nervous of that for her...here is a cute pic of her at practice on Thursday...

My license plates FINALLY came in....they are the new style...pretty cool if you ask me!!

Friday night we had dinner with my parents and then came home and just snuggled the night away! Saturday it rained all day which was good because practice was cancelled and we needed to clean for our SLEEPOVER! KJ was having a friend over for a sleepover and both girls were PUMPED! They had a good time (I think) and they got along SO WELL! Not one fight! It was a great night!

this is what happens to a boy dog at a girl sleepover

Sunday after M went home, KJ and I had BIG plans. We were going to the Hobby Center to see Beauty & the Beast (thanks to Granny). We had SO much fun and my baby looked absolutely gorgeous!!!!
