Birthday / Vacation

Well, in just two short days, my baby girl will be 4 years old. It is hard to believe. I remember that day like it was yesterday. She was such a tiny little thing. I can't believe she is already so bug. Only one more year before Kindergarten! It went so fast. People tell you that all the time but you don't really see it until you are raising a child. They change so fast. I try and capture as much of her as I can with journaling and photos, but I need to be better on the videos!!

Today kicked off the b-day / vacation fun. We sent cupcakes to school and had them order pizza for the class. Also, they are having a pajama party. Tomorrow is her party and Sunday is her b-day. Sunday morning we are having lunch with my family and have another b-day party to go to for Kayli J. and Tuesday we are having lunch with the Buckalew's. Monday we are having a fun Memorial Day / B-day party for our good friends the Schnitz's and then Thursday we head our for San Antonio!!!! Sea World here we come!!

I will try and write some next week, but I may not make it. I will certainly update with a few pics from the b-day and vacation around the end of next week.

Here is a pic of the ladybug this morning before school in her pj's and a big button ribbon that says b-day girl!!

Hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend and don't forget to honor all our fallen soldiers.

Weekend Musings

So, the weekend was great. I am now the new Vice President of the Kingwood MOYC (Mother's of Young Children). I am really excited about it. I think it is a good challenge for me and keeps me involved like I love to be. We had a pizza party and after hung out with some great friends. Kendall decided while we were at their house that she needed to get in their kiddie pool. I rolled her pants legs up and told her that she could walk in it. Wellllll, the next thing I hear is a huge splash and Kendall is soaked. She was still standing in the pool but had filled the watering can that was in there and dumped it on her head. So, she got one of her b-day presents early from Ms. Kelli - a Hannah Montana nightgown. Her and her BFF got to match. She kept saying she wanted to spend the night, but when it came down to it, she wanted us. However, she cried all the way home and was asleep in 10 minutes!

Saturday we had Gymboree which is the gymnastics equivalent to a spring recital. She was not really too excited about it until I told her Paw Paw was coming and then she was stoked. She was so excited to see him and I was so excited he came. That made my day. She ended up doing SO GREAT!!!! I was so proud of her! She did the beam with no help and jumped off the vault mat with no help onto the target. I am now doubting my decision to not sign her up again. She actually showed real potential!!

Sunday was a girls day and my sister, mom and I went to see Happy Days at the Hobby Center. It was so good! One of the best plays I have seen in a long time.

Back to the grind this week for a busy week. Kendall is having a pizza/pajama party at school on Friday for her b-day and we are sending cupcakes. Then, Saturday is her party and Sunday is the big day! 4 years old.

I will try and post some pics tonight!!

Just a few things from my day. Can you believe that Danny got sent home on American Idol? Kendall just knew he was going to win! I loved them all and they all can't win so someone had to go. Today was pretending day at Kendall's school. Of course, she was Cinderella. She first asked to be Tinkerbell and when I reminded her that we did not own a Tinkerbell outfit she reverted back to Cinderella. At least we are getting our money's worth from the Halloween coustume.

I am steadily waiting on my last grade to post. The grades are not oficially posted until 05/21 at noon, but I am just waiting on my last project grade to post. I only need a 2.4/10 to keep my A. So, I wish she would hurry up!!!!

On another note, I am totally freaked out. I just read an article that there were two attempted child abductions in Atascocita. One of them was IN our neighborhood. I am just thankful that when Kendall starts school she will be with me and I won't have to worry about that. I am so thankful for the choices that Chris and I have made to lead us donm this path. It has taken us longer than planned, but when Kendall thinks back to her childhood from Kindergarten on, she will remember us being with her on all her holidays. It is something that I cherish from having a mom as a teacher and I hope she will too.

Well, tomorrow is Friday and that kicks off our super busy next three weeks so I will try and update with pics as fast as I can. We have Gymboree, b-day party, b-day, and a fun vacation coming up! Can't wait!!!

So I am new to this, but I think that some people out there may want to keep up with me. Also, I was reading a friend's blog and she said she uses it to be able to look back later and see the funny things that went on in her life. I keep a journal for Kendall, but I don't write everything in it. This way, it is something like she said, a way to look back :)

So, not much going on here. I am pretty boring. Just waiting for Kendall's b-day to get here in 11 sleeps (that is from the 3yo perspective). I can't believe she is going to be 4 already. It makes me want to cry just thinking about it. I was looking back at pics from her first Christmas last night and her first b-day and they made me so sad. Where did that tiny funny girl go? Trust me, the funny is still there, but the tiny...LONG GONE! She is so tall!! I think she is def going to be taller than me! Well, look at her daddy! I am def going to be the little on in the family when she grows up!

I am having a cranky day at work, but I keep thinking to myself that I only have 15 months left. Then I will be doing what I have always dreamed of! I can't wait for it to get here, but I hate to wish 15 months away! Only one more little school year to go! I will graduate from UH in December!!!!! and then take my alternative cert classes in the Spring. I should be able to get a job in the spring and start teaching in August 2010! It seems so close and yet so far away. Chris will be starting his alt. cert. classes at the same time, but he will graduate next May so lets pray he can get a job over the summer!!!!

More later :)

Happy Wednesday!
